MINUTES OF THE GENERAL MEETING OF AROCA (SA)
HELD ON THURSDAY November 3rd
AT THE SPORTING CAR CLUB ROOMS
Meeting opened at 8.05pm

Life member Lloyd Clonan queried why he wasn’t mentioned in the minutes.
Secretary Malcolm advised there was an error in the magazine as the minutes did show, Lloyd Clonan as the master of ceremonies and next meeting: Thursday November 3rd, SCCSA.
Editor apologised for the oversight.
President: Welcomed all to the meeting in our 47th year, advising emergency exits, bathrooms and the coffee machine was working this time.
With great sadness we were advised of the passing of Dr Ian Wall, AM. Ian was a club member for 24 years with member number 500. Ian was a great friend to many.
Celebration of Ian’s life will be Friday 11th November at 2pm at the St Peters Cathedral, 27 King William Road, North Adelaide.
Reception, St Marks College, 46 Pennington Tce, North Adelaide.
Phil Radoslovich was called up to brief us and advise the many charities Ian so generously offered his service and monetary contribution too.
Ian also received honorary doctorates from the Adelaide University just prior to his passing.
President, thanked past President Steve for taking on the bar duties for the evening.
Xmas meeting Thursday Dec 1st 7pm start, Social Sec Adam Savis to advise more detail.
Auto Italia, President thanked all members who have entered to show off their Alfa. Will require volunteers to help with club shop and car parking, no police accreditation required. This was queried by Ian Slape as some time ago we had a police officer provide information to club members what was required to be accredited. President asked for a show of hands of members present at that meeting resulting in, Ian Slape, Lloyd Clonan, Dave Buttery, Lee Philp, Phil Radoslovich, Malcolm Ebel and Phil Storr then being asked to help.
President thanked Bob Davenport for arranging the Guerilla run Dec 13th.
Vice President: Arranging club sponsors progressing well. Should any member know of a potential club sponsor let VP Paul know. Our two guest speakers will be approached.
Treasurer: Club finances are in a good position, refer financial report given. Closing balance, $11,445.31.
Mailchimp costs now showing monthly, previously it was a 12month cost.
Challenges with finalising signatories for term deposit with Bendigo Bank even though Treasurer is employed there, will visit H/O Monday morning November 7th to finalise.
Secretary: Not a lot of incoming mail, one returned club magazine, Bursons, change of address to be amended again. Cheque received from a family joining the club from the Riverland.
Membership: as of today 3/11, 271 financial members with 58 from last year yet to rattle their money tin. Then advised two members had re-joined on the night, excellent. Many of the 58 were associates meaning they had vehicles on historic reg that were no longer registered until club financial.
Competition Secretary: Sunday Oct 23rd, very wet, better to have a boat then a race car. Some members only had two runs and not the normal 4.
Lap times were read out, certainly no personal best lap times achieved.
2023 sprint dates arranged, waiting on the MSCA SA to receive final approval.
Social Secretary: Oct 30th lunch run well supported. Xmas meeting Dec1st at the Sporting car club, 7pm start, chicken and salad dinner, man in the red suit will be there to hand out the Kris Kringle $5 gifts. Please mark your gift male or female.
Mailchimp will be sent to get an idea of how many members to cater for.
Dec 1st is the first day of the Adelaide 500, will cause some challenges for Adam getting the food arranged for our Xmas dinner.
Club Captain: Sunday Dec13th, not a Hump Day run as shown in the club magazine, it’s a guerrilla run to the Sailmaster Tavern, North Haven. Mailchimp will be sent.
GENERAL BUSINESS: Nothing to report.
BUY, SELL, SWAP: Ross Tate had Alfa door cards to give away. Rhys Williams selling 4 wheels with Khumo Tarmac Rally tyres in excellent condition, suit Alfa 75, 5 stud x 98PCD. Paul Lucas selling 245×40 x ZR17 Rapid P609 tyres.
RAFFLE WINNERS: Vince Lapizzo, Joe Riccardi and Dino DiRosa.
President thanked Pat Storr for supplying the supper and introduced our guest speakers, Raff and Legri.
Meeting closed at 8.40pm.
Raff and Legri, Doppietta Coffee and Cars gave an excellent presentation on ENI oils. Both presenters received an Alfa Romeo club shop beanie as a small gift of appreciation.
