1976 Alfa Romeo Spider, excellent condition, 51,400 verified miles from new.

It is with intent that lots of detail is provided herewith to appeal to genuinely interested buyers. This is a truly excellent classic motor car.  Please only call if your interest really is genuine.

This car has been extensively rebuilt, improved, used and maintained, regardless of cost, since 1996, with a receipt file totalling over $165k for parts, labour, special items, servicing and development. The receipts are all with Eurosport in Kent Town.

In South Australia, the car is very well known in the classic car circles and at Mallala club events to the point that there is also a 1996 AutoSpeed magazine article on the car.

Yes, this is a USA car, ex Arizona, and if you must have a factory RHD car please don’t call. This is an exceptional Spider, a driver’s car, in fabulous condition. There is also history with the car whilst still in the States and the original import papers, approvals etc are all on file.

The car is currently on historic registration in Adelaide, returned to fast road spec and used very sparingly now as a classic road Alfa.

Detail listed below.

Full bare metal respray in Australia in 1996 in Rosso 130.
Converted to RHD at the same time.
Still looks sensational, no fading at all.
Brand new mirrors and Carello headlight covers just fitted.
Bolt on front and rear tow points easily removed.

Cobra drivers seat re-trimmed to match the factory passenger seat.
Bolt in Roll bar and harness.
Momo steering wheel
Alpine stereo
Ignition on a starter button
Engine and gearbox:
Rebuilt, fresh and fully balanced, rebuild was 17,200 km ago
New big valve cylinder head, flowed with 45mm inlet valves, 3,900 km ago.
Alquatti camshafts, 11mm lift, still very smooth and idles beautifully
Twin 40mm Dellorto carburettors with new Pipercross filter.
Magnetti Morelli ignition
Ceramic coated Pace extractors and sports exhaust

A wonderful and tractable 2.0 litre. The dyno sheet from South Australia when the new big valve head was installed shows 137hp at the wheels.

The gearbox is a Vin Sharpe close ratio, the flywheel is lightened and balanced, and there is an upgraded LSD.

The pedal box has the hanging pedal setup, nice to use and heel & toe with.

Battery relocated to the boot with an isolation switch.

Suspension, wheels and brakes:

Koni adjustable front and rear with a well developed spring setup.
27mm front sway bar
BMW 4 spot Ate front calipers with brand new front pads.
14 x 7 globe alloy wheels finished in black with correct centre caps
Falken soft compound road tyres.

In South Australia the car originally ran the plate VSB 800. It now has ‘Amore 2’ as a nod to a sister car in Adelaide ‘Amore 1’.

The cloth hood is in very good condition but does have one small hole on the drivers side…..thank you to that person.

The car is never driven in the rain or with the hood up.
