Trackside July 2015

Hello and welcome to Trackside for the month of July.

As magazine articles are due on the 15th of the month, Round 2 will have been run a week after the deadline. I will present plaques at the General Meeting for this month so you will know the placings for the event.

We ran a Driver Training Day on Saturday 30th May on behalf of the Marque Sports Car Association, which unfortunately will end up at considerable cost to them. Thank you to the members of our club who entered, particularly the Robertson family of five, and Peter Axford as our Clerk of Course who did a terrific job as usual. Many thanks to all those members who gave their time and expertise at Mallala to enhance the driver skills of the participants that were there on the day. The only problem with the day was the lack of numbers participating.

As per usual I couldn’t have done it without my dedicated right hand man (girl), thank you Marlene.

A reminder that Round 3 will be held on Sunday 19th July (come on Viano!)

I will not be standing for re-election at the AGM next month. I would urge any younger people to think long and hard about the future of our club as we need to facilitate the progression of our club’s relevance to younger and coming generations. So if you have a great passion for our beloved marque, please consider continuing the club for future Alfa Romeo enthusiasts.
