Unfortunately, I have to write this article before our first circuit sprint for 2015 on Sunday 22nd March. A full breakdown of results will be published in the May magazine.
Our Driver Training Day has been locked in for Saturday 30th May. Supp. Regs are currently in for approval. Entry forms should be available from the AROCA SA website or if I can arrange it, as a loose insert in the magazine. Entries can be lodged with me, or at Eurosport with Peter Axford, as has been done in the past.
There is a maximum number of 44 entries and is an extremely worthwhile thing to do for drivers of any age (who haven’t already done it) especially young drivers or those learning to drive. There will be a good range of vehicle control skills taught and experienced on the day. You don’t need any special sort of vehicle, it is best done in your every day car. The cost will be $175 for club members and $180 for any non members. This includes tuition, food and drink for the day.
We would love to have all those people who normally help out on the exercises to be run during the day, as the experience and continuity of running this event is important for the participants to get the most out of the day.
I have had some correspondence from the Victorian Chapter of AROCA regarding some low key racing during a sprint day, currently scheduled for 29th March and 2nd August, 2015 at Winton Raceway. If you are interested, your car would need to have at least a half roll cage, a log book and you would need to have a competition licence (not the normal 2S we use for sprinting).
If you wish to enter, please contact Neil Choi, AROCA Victoria Competition Secretary via the forum or email etc.
Other upcoming events for the month of April include:
11th April Hillclimb Come and Try Collingrove
12th April Hillclimb Wintercup Round 1 Collingrove
12th April Superkart and Modern Regularity Mallala
25th & 26th April Historic Race Meeting Mallala
26th April Motorkhana Big W Monarto
That is all for now.
Hope to see your backside trackside.
