Come and Try event

Super sprint round 1 incorporates a come and try event.  The event will be limited to thirty drivers so if you’re interested you’d better be quick.   The come and try drivers will be a separated into non-competitive groups who will be on track after the last competitive group. The come and try groups will have two on-track sessions with an instructor and two sessions without the instructor, all untimed.  While the other competitive groups are sprinting the come and try participants will be in the “classroom” receiving tuition on a range of topics like the sport of sprinting, vehicle preparation, racing lines, etc.  A few more points to note:

  • Participants do not need to be a member of a car club;
  • A one-day licence is included in the price and can be used as part payment for a CAMS licence if they choose to continue sprinting;
  • The day involves considerable tuition both in car and in the classroom;
  • An instructor will be paired with each participant for the day, i.e. one-on-one tuition;
  • Runs are untimed so no need for a Dorian;
  • Vehicle requirements will not be as stringent, as the come and try group is non-competitive, we anticipate that a fire extinguisher will not be required;
  • A helmet is required, clothing must be non-flammable covering the body down to the wrists and ankles, and leather shoes are to be worn;
  • Roll Over Protection will be required in open cars as per our regular Supplementary Regulations;
  • Participants will have the same track time as “regular” sprinters;
  • Entry form available on the MSCA website (link)

The cost for the day is $120.
